To be eligible, you’ll need to meet some basic criteria relating to your age, Australian Residency status and the nature of your disability.

We’ve divided the entire NDIS process in 7 easy steps so you’re fully prepared and know exactly what to do throughout each of the seven steps of your NDIS journey.

Step 1: Prepare yourself well. Learn how the NDIS works and what's expected of you.

Step 2: Your NDIS planning meeting. Bring your checklist and supporting documents. If you need a family member or friend for support, get them

Step 3: Understand your plan well. Check your details and make sure you are happy with your goal and funds allocated to you.

Step 4: Be Organised your NDIS finances. Keep track of your spending and make sure service providers are being paid on time. Ask for plan management to be included in your plan.

Step 5: Choose right service coordinators and service providers who will meet your needs and also who you connect and get along with. They can motivate you to achieve your goals.

Step 6: Keep a track of your plan, goals, funds and above all those improvements you want to see in your life.

Step 7: Annual plan review is an opportunity to check if your supports are still relevant to you. This review can change you goals and funds. So prepare in advance.

If you want to change something in your plan, you can always request a plan review. Make sure you explain as clearly as possible how and why you need to make changes.

Plan management is covered by the NDIS and is available to all NDIS participants - you just need to ask for it during your planning meeting.

The NDIS asks service providers to register with them because only registered providers can claim their invoices with the NDIS directly. But not all providers choose to do so and there are some great unregistered providers which you only have access to if you self manage your funds or have a consultants/advisors/plan manager like us.
